Responsibilities

ECS Limited is seeking a Natural Resources Department Manager to join our Southeast Environmental team in Raleigh, NC.

As an Environmental Department Manager with ECS, you will oversee operations, manage scientists and project managers, ensure timely project deliverables, prepare proposals, and drive business growth.

  • Manage and grow the Natural Resources department with a focus on business development and marketing initiatives
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of environmental scientists and project managers, overseeing environmental services projects, reviewing reports, preparing proposals, and managing departmental P&L
  • Supervise employees and manage daily departmental operations, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines
  • Coordinate effectively with regulatory authorities, particularly in navigating complex 404/401 permitting
  • Contribute to business growth by maintaining and developing client relationships, marketing services, and preparing proposals for environmental projects
  • Manage project and budget oversight, including coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • May involve report preparation duties based on departmental needs
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • BS degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Ecological, Biology, Environmental Engineering or related discipline; MS degree preferred
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant environmental consulting experience
  • Professional licensure/certification (e.g., PWS, CWB, CE/CEP, or CERP) preferred
  • Extensive experience in wetland and stream delineation
  • Expertise in navigating complex 404/401 permitting
