Job summary

First Cut Design & Fabrication, Inc. in Richburg, SC is seeking a Design Engineer I and an Engineer II for in-person roles focused on natural gas facilities design.

You will deliver mechanical designs and CAD packages for piping facilities from design through installation. Responsibilities include AutoCAD drawing sets, piping sizing, hydraulic analyses, isometrics, P&IDs, site layouts, field measurements, and collaboration with project teams and customers.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering is required.
• 1-5 years relevant experience in Oil & Gas or related utility industry.
• Competency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Demonstrated experience in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed design and AutoCAD drawing packages for Natural Gas Projects (main lines, service lines, measurement and regulator equipment, etc.) including isometrics, P&ID’s, twoline plan and elevation views, plot plans, site layouts, and details.
• Perform Engineering calculations to ensure design criteria and compliance requirements are satisfied.
• Perform pipe sizing, hydraulic analysis, hydrostatic test design and equipment specification.
• Provide designs in accordance with customer specifications.
• Provide technical assistance and support to Construction and Field operations, in shop fabrication, and on-site installation of facilities.
• Size and select appropriate equipment to meet project parameters.
• Collaborate with FCDF team members on contract bid preparation.
• Communicate with customers to obtain scope of projects and participate in design reviews.
• Adapt to fast-paced project schedules with ability to prioritize time and efficiently complete projects on schedule.
• Independently maintain project schedules and provide timely updates on project milestones.
• Provide training/guidance to CAD support personnel.
• Travel to job sites to meet with customers and obtain field measurements.

Summary:

First Cut Design & Fabrication is seeking a Natural Gas Facilities Design Engineer I and an Engineer II to join our team. We specialize in turnkey solutions for the natural gas transmission and distribution – from design, fabrication and installation.

This is an in-person position located at our facility in Richburg, SC and will report directly to the Senior Engineer (PE). The design engineer will provide high-quality mechanical design and drawing sets for the fabrications, construction, and installation of natural gas piping facilities.

Additional Responsibilities include:

Experience/Qualification Requirements:

Must have:

• BS in Engineering
• 1-5 years relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or related utility industry
• Competency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Demonstrated experience in AutoCAD

Nice to have:

• 2+ years relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or related utility industry
• Strong Knowledge of P&IDs, ASME/API/ANSI/NFPA/CSA Codes
• P.E. in training in SC, NC, TN, VA, FL or KY or ability to acquire
