Job summary

Paycom seeks a Pharmacy Clerk to assist the professional staff in triage, processing and delivery of prescriptions, with strong inventory control duties in a fast-paced retail or hospital setting.

You'll handle cash registers, phones, data entry in the pharmacy management and POS systems, and support MTM and other patient-focused services while upholding HIPAA and regulatory standards. Employment is full-time in Vermont, requiring High School Diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Must be able to handle cash accurately and follow cash controls.
• Experience handling phones and assisting customers in person.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn pharmacy software and MTM processes.

Job Summary:Assist the professional staff in the triaging, processing and delivery of prescriptions to the patient. Assist in the management of the Pharmacy Inventory and Third-Party ReceivablesJob Duties:Perform duties of Pharmacy Clerk as needed including, but not limited to running cash register and answering telephonesExecutes the plan – able to learn and understand specific aspects of the pharmacy management system (i.e., reception and release to patient queues) as well as our POS system; follows instructions and completes tasks with a sense of urgency; responsible for daily department standardsQuality focused – understands and embraces the importance of our Quality Assurance Policy & Procedures; understands and embraces all patient care programs and initiatives; understands and embraces all policies and procedures; accuracy with cash and related cash controlsIntermediate to advanced understanding of pharmacy technology – included is product dispensing, data entry, and adjudication workflow stepEnsure that every prescription has been checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing to the patientAssist in the initial submission, and resubmission (as required) of all third-party claimsInventory management – proficient in inventory management including ordering & receiving processes, inventory freshness; proficient with return to stocks and cycle countingAssist in the checking of pharmacy inventory for outdates and processing all returnsLocating prescription files and other manual records from storage as neededPrepare and file manual records for pharmacist signatures and reviewIntegrity/Ethical Behavior – acts with integrity always; never willing to compromise integrity; behaves in a manner consistent with company standards; understands and fully complies with all HIPPA compliance standardsRegulatory & Operational Compliance – Proficient in all state and federal regulations ensuring compliance with the law; understands and ensures we follow company operational policies & procedures.Perform all store clerk duties as neededResponsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programsPerform other duties as assignedProfessional services – proficient in the management of our MTM program as well as other patient centered professional servicesEducational Requirements:Minimum: High School Diploma (or currently enrolled) or GEDPreferred: AS Degree or HigherPTCB or other nationally recognized certification programExperience:Preferred hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred
