Job summary

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking qualified individuals for the Special Agent role. The position focuses on protecting the nation from cyber threats, terrorism, fraud, and evolving risks through investigations and intelligence gathering.

Applicants must meet stringent criteria, including U.S. citizenship, a bachelor’s degree, Top-Secret SCI eligibility, and readiness to work 50 hours per week, with location flexibility across FBI field offices in the United States.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university.
• Be eligible for a Top-Secret SCI Clearance.
• Be able to legally possess a firearm.
• Be at least 23 and under 37 on appointment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct investigations of potential federal law violations.
• Exercise judgment and resourcefulness in investigations.
• Create liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial and international agencies.
• Coordinate searches, seizures, and arrests.
• Carry a firearm and use force if necessary.
• Maintain physical fitness to perform duties.
