Job summary

The FBI is seeking a Special Agent stationed in U.S. locations. This role focuses on protecting the nation from cyber-attacks, terrorism, and fraud by conducting high-stakes investigations and leveraging deep domain expertise.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from a U.S. accredited institution, be eligible for Top-Secret SCI clearance, and meet physical and legal requirements. Salary ranges from $93,749 to $133,200 per year plus locality pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Top-Secret SCI clearance.
• Be at least 23 years old and under 37 at appointment; exceptions may apply.
• Be able to legally possess/carry a firearm.
• One year of full-time sworn law enforcement experience OR advanced degree alternative; or two years of general work with a bachelor’s or one year with a master's/doctorate.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal laws.
• Exercise judgement, resourcefulness, and versatility in meeting investigative demands.
• Create and maintain liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial and international law enforcement agencies.
• Coordinate and/or participate in searches, seizures, and arrests.
• Carry a firearm and be willing to use force, if necessary.
• Maintain physical fitness to perform law enforcement duties.
