Job summary

RAND Corporation is seeking analysts with strong modeling and simulation expertise to address national security policy challenges. You will lead projects that deliver objective insights for policymakers, applying AFSM-like methods and a mix of programming languages.

Responsibilities include developing and validating models, communicating results, and contributing to multidisciplinary teams. A master’s in a technical field is required, with relevant experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (or bachelor’s with 5+ years of relevant analytic experience) in engineering, OR, applied mathematics, physical sciences, computer science, data science, or related field.
• With a master’s degree, at least 2 years relevant professional experience preferred.
• Experience developing, applying, analyzing, or communicating quantitative models, simulations, data analyses, or analytic products.

Responsibilities

• Develop, apply, and analyze modeling and simulation outputs to examine complex systems and inform decisions.
• Understand national/homeland security operations to structure models and validate outputs.
• Communicate results to decision-makers via written products, briefings, visuals, and other media.
