Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle is launching a National Resident RN program designed to launch your nursing career with hands-on patient care and structured training under the guidance of experienced leaders and preceptors.

You will apply foundational nursing knowledge to assess patients, administer medications, document care, and participate in rounds, continuing education, and simulations, developing clinical judgment across diverse settings in the Puget Sound region.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN minimum; BSN preferred).
• 0–12 months of RN experience.
• Active RN license (state/compact) and AHA BLS certification.
• Must commit to a one-year, full-time program, including all coursework, shift requirements (day/night/holidays).

• Deliver direct patient care under supervision and guidance of experienced nurses.
• Administer medications and monitor patient conditions with accuracy.
• Document patient care and support interdisciplinary rounds and education sessions.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As a National Resident RN, you will embark on an immersive and supportive journey to launch your professional nursing career, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and specialized training within a nationally recognized residency program. You will be instrumental in delivering direct patient care, developing essential clinical skills, and contributing to positive patient outcomes under the guidance of experienced nursing leaders and preceptors.

Every day you will apply foundational nursing knowledge to assess patient conditions, administer medications, perform vital clinical procedures, and meticulously document patient care, always prioritizing safety and therapeutic communication. You will actively participate in interdisciplinary rounds, continuing education sessions, and simulation training, building your clinical judgment and critical thinking skills in diverse patient care settings.

To be successful in this foundational role, you will leverage your academic preparation and an eager willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a structured residency framework. You will engage proactively with your preceptors and mentors, seeking feedback and applying new knowledge to real-world patient scenarios.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN minimum; BSN preferred).
• Experience: 0–12 months of professional RN experience.
• Licensure/Cert: Active RN license (state/compact) and AHA BLS certification.
• Commitment: Must complete a one-year, full-time program, including all coursework, shift requirements (day/night/holidays), and program terms.
• Core Competencies: Ability to provide patient care, interpret clinical/regulatory documentation, perform medical math, use critical thinking, and communicate effectively in English.

Pay Range

$47.12 - $88.77 /hour
