Job summary

Offices, Boards and Divisions within the Department of Justice is seeking a Public Affairs Specialist to serve as a national on-the-record spokesperson in the Office of Public Affairs. The role coordinates federal law enforcement public information programs across Department organizations, including legal divisions and US Attorneys’ Offices.

Qualifications

• FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
• If you are qualifying on foreign education, you MUST submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency.

Responsibilities

• Deals with print, radio, television, internet media, law enforcement agencies, government officials, and private industry.
• Advises and assists other departmental components on communications strategies and resolving issues to align public affairs messaging across the Department.
• Develops and maintains knowledge of Department policies, guidelines, and internal regulations.
• Organizes and coordinates media interviews with Department leadership and develops supporting materials.
• Organizes press conferences and other media events to enhance the Department's law enforcement initiatives.
