Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• 5–10 years of newsroom experience, ideally national or top local market.
• Willing to work extended or modified shifts as news developments warrant.
• Willing to work weekdays and holidays as needed.
• Strong writing, organizational, and people skills are vital.

Responsibilities

• Man NewsNation's national assignment desk during varied shifts.
• Identify news of interest to a national audience and verify information with sources.
• Coordinate coverage of news with correspondents, producers, and photojournalists.
• Gather video, audio, and pictures to tell stories effectively.
• Maintain contact with field teams to support live hits and coverage.
• Monitor social media and clear user-generated content.
• Follow rights and clearances restrictions and ensure compliance.
• Assist in compiling editorial and logistics notes for newsgathering and show teams.
