Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a senior leader to head the OSEP Mechanical discipline nationwide, directing major programs, guiding delivery practices, and aligning with corporate objectives. The role requires building a high-performance mechanical leadership pipeline across offices and driving continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will coordinate across teams, mentor engineers, and develop market-differentiating solutions to strengthen the firm’s competitive position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years related professional experience and demonstrated leadership across major projects/programs/clients.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence, lead, and develop the organization.
  • Professional Engineer license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Direct most significant programs and drive best delivery practices leveraging collaboration across the discipline.
  • Organize, lead, and inspire collaboration across all OSEP Mechanical teams.
  • Recruit, hire, and develop mechanical capability expectations and leadership throughout OSEP.
  • Develop market-differentiating solutions that drive project value and competitiveness.
  • Expand delivery practices and benchmark cost improvements through high-value centers and automation.
  • Serve with the OSEP leadership team to interpret corporate policies and goals.
  • Recommend changes in department structure to fulfill objectives.
  • Facilitate OSEP Mechanical resources meetings for cost-efficient staff utilization.
  • Develop department-wide training and capability development.
  • Coordinate with GFS Mechanical Leads for overall team synergy.
