Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the health sciences from an accredited university required. Advanced degree required in a relevant scientific discipline. Doctorate strongly preferred in a health science or clinical discipline.
• At least 5 years of direct people management required. Greater than or equal to 5 years industry related experience with demonstrated leadership success in a pharmaceutical or Biotech Company required.
• Exhibits leadership attributes aligning with AbbVie initiatives and corporate values.
• Flexibility to adapt to market dynamics, urgency and commitment to excellence in objectives.
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Establish vision and provide active leadership for the therapeutic field-medical team. Align field-medical strategy with the TA and promote AbbVie values.
• Co-develop strategy and execute field-based scientific support for therapeutic area on market products and pipeline.
• Oversee training to ensure compliance and scientific competency of the team, in coordination with TA leadership.
• Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders across Commercial, HEOR, Medical Information, and others to support medical objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-therapeutic peers to standardize and enhance field-medical functions worldwide.
• Budget management for the MSL team and resource alignment with medical affairs needs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation in all field activities.
