Job summary

TEGNA Inc. is hiring a National Feature Photographer/Producer to capture original, enterprise video stories that highlight the human spirit and air on TEGNA-owned stations and apps.

The role requires travel of about 25% to cover feature stories nationwide, shooting and editing in vertical and horizontal formats, and collaborating with editors to pitch ideas. You will use Adobe Suite and Edius, and work under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Associates/BA/BS in journalism, communications, or related field
• 3-5 years of photojournalism experience
• Knowledge of non-linear editing systems (Adobe Suite or Edius)
• Proven ability to generate creative, engaging, content-driven live shots
• SNG experience a plus
• Live Center/ENG coordination experience a plus
• Skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects a plus
• Demonstrated news judgment with the tenets of professional journalism
• Organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines

Responsibilities

• Produce original, enterprise video stories that captivate and tell compelling stories
• Travel approximately 25% to cover feature stories across the country
• Produce and edit videos in vertical and traditional horizontal formats
• Use photography tools to tell great stories
• Use Adobe Suite or Edius video editing software
• Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new media to enhance stories
• Shoot and edit multi-camera interviews

• Write headlines, abstracts, or social media captions for videos
• Drive and operate news gathering vehicles
• Cover breaking, general, sports, feature, investigative, and political news stories
• Perform other tasks as required
• Reports to Corporate Director of Content, Enterprise

National Feature Photographer/Producer

TEGNA, the parent company of 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets, is hiring anational/company-widePhotojournalist for a unique role in news. Thisbroadcast journalism photojournalistwill capture stories that highlight the best of the human spirit. These storieswillair and streamnationally on TEGNA-owned TV stations and apps. The photojournalist will travel at least one week a month to different communities across the country with a partner who specializes in this kind of reporting.

Requirements:

Pay Range

$43.27 - $48.08 USD
