Job summary

Compass Connections in San Antonio, TX seeks a licensed clinical professional to lead clinical and mental health services for youth-focused programs. You will supervise staff, oversee partnerships, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Language Requirement: Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8am - 5pm; Travel is required for this role

Academic Requirement: Required – Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, socialwork, counseling, marriage, and family therapy, or in other relevant behavioral science fieldin which clinical training and experience is a program requirement OR a master’s degree in abehavioral science field and five (5) years of full-time direct service delivery experience

Certifications: Current clinical license and LPC-S or licensure eligible, First aid, CPR, Emergency behaviorintervention

Work Experience: Required – Three (3) years of supervisory experience or five (5) years in a related area withspecific experience in working with community-based, residential, inpatient, or school basedclinical treatment programs, in addition to the above. Experience developing andimplementing trainings, applying recommendations from governing entities, and conductingtraining of clinical staff. A proven track record in working successfully with diversepopulations

Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables:

1. Ensure all community relationships supporting partnerships are viable.
2. Provide oversight of data, evaluative tools, and survey information as necessary for the division.
3. Implementation and management of clinical and mental health service initiatives.
4. Ensure relevant program training remains updated according to local, state, and federal policy.
5. Ensure compliance dashboard reflects program critical action items.
6. Participate in scheduled meetings, in-service training and team decisions.
7. Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor.
8. Maintain Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.
9. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
10. Enhancement of supportive services for UAC with significant mental health issues, focused on the evaluation the efficacy of psychotropic medications.
11. Creation of additional tools necessary to identify and serve vulnerable populations.
12. Possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as organizational and planning skills.
13. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of child and program operations.
14. Maintain Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, children, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.
15. All other duties as assigned.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Be available to travel with minimum notice for any period of time that the assignment warrants.
2. Be available for on call.
3. Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the professional community.
4. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
5. Ability to communicate on an effective level with both clients and staff from a variety of disciplines.
6. Serve as a liaison between Compass Connections headquarters and programs as well as State and Federal partners as it relates to clinical and mental health services.
7. Ensure training is available to staff according to need.
8. Work irregular days/hours, including nights, holidays and weekends, depending on needs.
9. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.

Requirements:

1. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
2. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
3. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
4. Possess a valid driver’s license and have an excellent driving record.
5. Demonstrate the ability to:
   • a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
   • b. Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals.
   • c. Provide crisis intervention according to training provided by Compass Connections when needed to maintain a safe environment.
   • d. Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.
   • e. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
   • f. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
6. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.
7. Must be licensed to practice mental health treatment and assessment (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist).
8. Must possess clinical and mental health assessment and treatment skills with diverse populations of children/adolescents.
9. Must possess the ability to train staff in therapeutic processes, prepare reports and recommendations for clinical and mental health administrative use, and have the ability to work with youth in community-based programs, residential, day treatment or institutional settings.
