Job summary

Anchor Innovation, Inc. seeks a motivated Strategic Planning Support Specialist to join our HSFS team at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida. This onsite role supports USSC and 1AF Det 3 missions, contributing to planning, training, and mission execution across NASA programs.

The candidate will assist in writing, coordinating, and staffing HSFS orders and materials, coordinate exercises, and liaise with DoD agencies. A Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 15 years or more of staff experience in aviation/naval/special operations at a headquarters or higher-level planning cell.
• Working knowledge of JOPES and strategic planning processes.
• Experience as a staff officer in a headquarters, major command, or equivalent planning cell.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal liaison for unit strategic-level planning tasks at HSFS and USSC Det 3.
• Assist execution of joint planning in accordance with JP 5-0 and JP 3-0 series.
• Assist writing and staffing HSFS orders, plans, and briefing materials for planning, training, exercises and mission execution.
• Assist planning and execution of Joint Staff and higher HQ HSFS exercises and war games.
• Coordinate with DoD, interagency, and local commands to assemble documentation and minutes in COCOM format.
• Support integration of HSFS across NASA programs.
• Attend required USSC training.
• Utilize NIPR/SIPR tools for HSFS training and missions.
• Be prepared to travel to higher headquarters and support 24-hour operations when required.

ANCHOR seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Strategic Planning Support Specialist to join our team in Patrick Space Force Base (PSFB), Florida. This is an onsite position.

ANCHOR’s Human Space Flight Support (HSFS) team is integrated with and directly supports United States Space Command (USSC) and the First Air Force Detachment 3 (1AF Det 3) mission of HSFS for all National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) crewed space programs - Soyuz, Artemis and Commercial Crew - across the Planning, Training, Execution, and Sustainment phases of the HSFS mission.

The position provides support to develop, specify and execute strategic planning tasks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support 1 AF, Det 3 in the role as principal liaison for unit strategic-level planning tasks by providing COCOM-level staff expertise for HSFS.
• Assist execution of joint planning IAW Joint Publication 5-0 and Joint Operations IAW the Joint Publication 3-0 series.
• Assist writing, coordinating and staffing HSFS orders, plans, instructions, concepts of operations, briefing presentations, papers, and reports in support of HSFS planning, training, exercises and mission execution.
• Assist planning and execution of Joint Staff and higher headquarters HSFS exercises and war games.
• Assist coordination with appropriate DOD agencies, interagency, and local chains of command to assemble/consolidate necessary documentation/slides in support of all related working groups, to include calendar notifications, and documentation preparation, (e.g., appropriate printed slide decks, etc.) delivered during required meetings, and record all relevant minutes with assigned tasks and attendance in COCOM format.
• Assist efforts to integrate and coordinate HSFS efforts across all NASA programs.
• Periodically check for changes to joint planning guidance and instructions
• Attend USSC provided training, as required.
• Utilize command directed command and control tools (NIPR and SIPR) for the execution of HSFS training, exercises, and mission execution.
• Be prepared to travel to higher headquarters to support exercises and mission execution.
• Be prepared to flex shifts to support 24-hour operations in times that require staffing beyond the standard day shift to fulfill COCOM mission requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a rated aviation, naval surface warfare or special operations officer or warrant officer with 15 years of experience.
• Possess a working knowledge of JOPES and strategic planning
• Have staff experience in a headquarters, major command or higher-level planning cell (any Service equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience delivering effective and precise presentations to co-workers, management and customers
• Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to thrive under deadline pressure

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have an active Secret clearance

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, machine and computer printer.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, higher headquarters, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
