The NAPA Parts Associate ensures the timely availability of materials, parts, and tools for outside customers or maintenance personnel in order for crucial continuous Company operation of all equipment.
- Drives truck to pick up incoming stock or deliver parts to shops, plants, jobsites or customers.
- Reads shop manuals to ascertain type and specification of parts.
- Inspects and measures parts visually or using micrometer to identify correct part to be ordered.
- Contacts vendors, secures pricing including freight, and creates computerized purchase orders documenting all agreements.
- Verifies quality and quantity of merchandise received to purchase orders.
- Stores parts received in various designated locations and record transactions in computerized inventory system.
- Issues parts, tools, and equipment to maintenance employees upon request and maintains record of items used and returned in computerized inventory system.
- Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of parts and supplies.
- Locates lost or misplaced tools, equipment, and parts.
- Marks and identifies tools and parts using identification tag or other marking tool.
- Maintains clean and safe working area by diligent and routine performance of housekeeping duties.
- Sells parts and creates invoice for external customers.
- Reports to supervisor at end of each shift to leave time card, fuel receipts/usage, mileage, and other information as well as receive instruction for next days work assignments.
- Expected to operate in safe manner and abide with traffic laws, rules, and regulations of State/Federal Departments of Transportation, laws governing hazardous materials and placarding, Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules and regulations and company rules/safety directives.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel Database software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
