Job summary

Nantucket Cottage Hospital on Nantucket Island, MA, seeks a per diem Registered Echo Tech to perform high-quality echocardiographic studies and other non-invasive cardiac procedures in a collaborative care setting at 57 Prospect Street.

RDCS or RCS certification is required, with BLS/CPR within one week of hire and at least two years of current echocardiography experience. Shifts include day/evening with on-call as needed, on-site at the hospital.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of an accredited non-invasive cardiovascular training program, with focus in echocardiography.
• Satisfactory completion of a recognized course in arrhythmia detection.
• 2 years' current experience as a registered echocardiography.
• RDCS or RCS required.
• BLS/CPR certification within one week of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates professionalism in all interactions with patients, physicians, staff and community.
• Performs echocardiographic studies and maintains equipment to departmental standards.
• Communicates findings to reading physician and documents results accurately.
• Educates patients and families about procedures and answers questions.
• Maintains quality assurance and participates in continuous improvement activities.
