Qualifications

• Vaccinations up to date (MMR, DTaP, Varicella, Hib, Tdap, flu, 2 COVID doses).
• 3–5 professional references available.

Responsibilities

• Lead active, hands-on play and outdoor time daily.
• Plan age-appropriate arts, crafts and activities.
• Drive to playgrounds, classes and library programs.
• Manage preschool drop-offs/pickups when older child starts half-day.
• Prepare meals, snacks and bottles for both children.
• Maintain routines for naps and feeding times.
• Support emotional moments with calm guidance.
• Keep play areas and kids’ spaces tidy.
• Coordinate with household manager on supplies.
• Pack bags for family trips; assist with dog care as needed.

Compensation: $40-45/hr, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm; flexibility required
Guaranteed Hours: 50 hours/week

Overview

A warm, active family in Los Gatos is looking for a proactive, energetic Full-Time Nanny to care for their two young children: a 2-year-old who turns 3 in January and a 10-month-old who turns 1 in January. The kids love sports of every kind, including hockey, golf and baseball. They also love scooters, playgrounds, reading, painting, music class and library programs. The family wants someone who is athletic, witty and relatable, who enjoys the work and likes to learn, and who anticipates needs without waiting to be asked. The parents' schedules change with the seasons, so flexibility is essential. A household manager also works in the home, and the nanny will coordinate with them on supply orders. Travel is not required but may come up occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Drive to playgrounds, music class and library programs
• Handle preschool drop-offs, pickups and transitions once the older child starts half-day preschool (3 days/week)
• Prepare meals, snacks and bottles, and feed both children
• Keep nap and feeding routines consistent
• Guide the children through emotional moments and meltdowns with patience and calm
• Keep play areas, kids' laundry and kids' spaces tidy
• Work with the household manager on orders for diapers, formula and other child supplies
• Pack the children's bags for family trips as needed
• Occasionally let out or feed the family's dog (a friendly senior)

Requirements

• In-home nanny experience or an early childhood education background
• Experience with infants and toddlers
• Strong understanding of child development and emotional needs
• Experience partnering with parents on parenting and education approaches (a plus)
• Early childhood or childcare education (a plus)
• Flexible schedule to accommodate changing family needs
• Valid driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle
• Current CPR/First Aid certification
• Vaccinations: MMR, DTaP, Varicella, Hib, Tdap, seasonal flu and at least 2 COVID-19 doses
• Comfortable around dogs
• Must be able to provide 3-5 professional references (excellent references required)
