NAMs Science and Technology Integration Partner

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) are human-relevant approaches that are implemented to improve the quality, speed, and consistency of scientific decision-making. Working at the intersection of scientific strategy, research operations, and organizational enablement, you will partner with leaders across Research functions including Therapeutics Discovery, Research Biology, Data Sciences, Translational Safety and Risk Sciences, Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism; Development functions such as Regulatory Policy; and external collaborators, to coordinate initiatives spanning human-relevant model development, data infrastructure, regulatory engagement, and scientific communities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Scientific Director to support development, implementation, and maintenance of an enterprise NAMs strategy, multi-year roadmap, and operating model aligned with Research and Development priorities
  • Establish planning tools and operating rhythms to coordinate implementation of scientific strategy integrated workplans that include milestones, timelines, dependencies, ownership, and success criteria
  • Define, monitor, and communicate outcome-based metrics demonstrating NAM adoption and impact, organizational value, decision support, capability development, and external influence
  • Develop and maintain knowledge-management approaches that curate and enable discovery, reuse, and continuous improvement of NAM models, datasets, contexts of use, model capabilities, and strategic opportunities across the portfolio
  • Serve as the primary program manager for the NAM Integration for Translational Enablement (NITE) initiative, coordinating activities, subgroups, priorities, and resource needs across scientific teams, departments, and sites
  • Coordinate scientific engagement with external collaborators, vendors, contract research organizations (CROs), academic partners, and industry consortia, by facilitating communication, documentation, and follow-up while partnering with existing operational functions responsible for contracting, confidential disclosure agreements (CDAs), and project execution
  • Develop and manage communication strategies that increase visibility of NAM capabilities, scientific resources, and organizational initiatives across Amgen, including maintaining SharePoint Site and Teams Channels
  • Partner with scientific leadership to organize and execute meetings, workshops, seminars, and other cross-functional initiatives
  • Help translate strategic scientific opportunities into executable workplans, including scope, deliverables, dependencies, resourcing, timelines, and decision points
  • Partner with scientific leadership to monitor emerging organizational needs and implement operational improvements that enhance collaboration, efficiency, and execution
