Reports To: Salon & Spa Manager and Supervisor

Overview

The Nail Technician is required to perform a variety of nail care services including manicures, pedicures and nail extensions.

Responsibilities and Performance
  • Ability: Explain and demonstrate hospitality behaviors and performance standards; understand where to obtain information needed to complete tasks to standard; explain and demonstrate technical skills used to complete tasks to standard; explain or demonstrate the behavioral values or standards needed to complete tasks to standard; take ownership of problems and solve them when solutions may not be available; request help from others when needed to complete a task or goal; possess complete knowledge of IMGR&C products and services; provide guests with directions or other venue information and act promptly, professionally and friendlily on comments/complaints.
  • Performance: Meet expected end results and standards in key responsibilities and SOPs; respond to obstacles and find new ways to reach desired end results; act in absence of guidance to address guest or internal customer needs; adapt quickly to change; support achievement of Quality Goal: “Do it right the first time”; keep all areas, equipment and furnishings neat, clean and in good repair; make suggestions to improve performance.
  • Behavior: Meet IMGR&C standards (Mission, Values, Hospitality Behaviors, Customer Recovery Skills); approach activities with enthusiasm and encourage enthusiasm from others; maintain a positive approach in all situations; respect individuality of others and communicate to work together; speak positively about guests, team members and the business.
  • Service: Serve others; identify and communicate the needs of guests and others; take quick action to meet or exceed needs; identify ways to improve individual or team service; provide service outside job responsibilities when needed to help the resort succeed; take ownership of guest problems until resolved.
  • Professionalism: Meet IMGR&C appearance standards; professionally support IMGR&C reputation and image on and off property; comply with attendance policy; notify supervisor of future absences as far in advance as possible; be available to work Marketing Special Events and Concerts.
  • Communication: Provide information others need to succeed in a timely manner; share information with the next shift; listen to others without interruption and act on feedback when possible; ask questions to clarify expectations; report all guest complaints and compliments to Supervisor or Manager; report any resort grounds or equipment not meeting IMGR&C standards.
  • Team Work: Put team success ahead of personal success; assist other team members without being asked; resolve conflicts between individuals; help other departments achieve success; report ideas to increase team success and guest satisfaction; contribute ideas to shift, team and departmental meetings.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Cleaning and maintenance of nails including trimming, filing, shaping, smoothing, polishing; application of artificial and sculpt nails; work with a wide range of nail products and tools; maintain cleanliness of salon, stations, tools and implements; help maintain adequate inventory of nail products and tools; work in sanitary, clean environments; adhere to established hours including weekends and holidays; ensure client satisfaction within guidelines and policies; stay updated on current nail trends and attend ongoing educational classes to keep services top-level.
Qualifications
  • Nail technician must acquire current NM State license or accredited training program; 2 years’ or more experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; friendly and professional demeanor; able and willing to work a flexible schedule.
  • High School Diploma or GED with proven dependability.
  • Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those required to perform essential duties, including standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, talking or hearing; ability to use handheld communications devices; may lift up to 50 pounds; ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Work Environment: Loud work environment; exposure to second-hand smoke; potential exposure to biohazardous fluids; may encounter hostile situations with guests; possible high-stress conditions.
