Job summary

Mountainland Technical College is seeking a Nail Technician Instructor to lead hands-on cosmetology instruction, mentor students, and keep curriculum aligned with industry standards. You will guide learning during labs, externships, and clinical experiences, ensuring students gain practical skills and credentialing to launch careers in the beauty industry.

You will collaborate with faculty to design lesson plans, assess progress, and maintain certifications while modeling professional practice

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent, and graduation from an accredited Cosmetology School or Apprenticeship.
• Minimum of three years of industry experience.
• Hold a valid Utah State Cosmetology Instructor license.
• Proficiency in cutting, coloring, styling, nail care, and basic aesthetics.
• Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and student engagement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, hands-on instruction to develop student industry readiness.
• Design, update, and maintain curriculum aligned with industry standards.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and labs for diverse learners.
• Supervise labs, externships, and work-based learning with constructive feedback.
• Track progress and implement improvement plans for each student.
• Input attendance and performance data into Northstar and manage reporting.
• Use the Learning Management System to engage students and orient new learners.
• Model professionalism, maintain certifications, and demonstrate best practices.
