The Maxwell Museum of Anthropology at the University of New Mexico seeks a NAGPRA Collections Associate to support NAGPRA documentation and compliance for archaeological collections. The Maxwell Museum of Anthropology (MMA) at the University of New Mexico (UNM) seeks a NAGPRA Collections Associate to support the Museum in NAGPRA documentation and compliance for archaeological collections. The successful candidate will work under the Archivist and the Collections Manager for Archaeology to inventory, process, catalog, and conserve archival collections; update records in the Museum’s CollectiveAccess database; assist in documentary reviews for NAGPRA compliance; and complete miscellaneous duties as assigned. This is a full‑time, 3.5‑year term position with possibility for renewal.
Bachelor’s degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
