Job summary

Interstate Batteries is seeking a NAC Delivery Specialist to deliver batteries and provide exceptional service to National Account customers and dealers on your route. You will load/unload, maintain asset accuracy, and ensure displays are full and rotated per agreement.

Role requires high school level education, strong communication, and at least one year of customer service experience. Previous delivery driving experience is preferred, with tablets/scanners for inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver batteries to National Account customers and dealers on your route.
• Load/unload trucks and keep an accurate asset ledger.
• Keep displays clean, full, and rotated per agreement.
• Manage dealer accounts including sales, warranties, and invoicing.
• Complete delivery paperwork and route transactions on time.
• Interact professionally with customers, managers, and teammates.
• Follow driver program requirements specified by management.
• Collect and return used batteries to warehouse.

Purpose of Job

The NAC Delivery Specialist delivers batteries and provides exceptional customer service to National Account customers and dealers within their territory.

Job Components

• Deliver batteries and provide service to each National Account customer on your route in a safe and timely manner.
• Load and unload trucks safely and maintain an accurate account of all company assets.
• Keep displays and product clean, full, and rotated per National Account agreement.
• Accountable for managing a dealer account, including but not limited to: sales, consignment, warranties, rotates, cash collection, and invoicing.
• Complete delivery/route transactions and other paperwork on a timely basis.
• Interact professionally with all stakeholders, including team members, managers, and customers.
• Follow / fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager.
• Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.
• Other duties as assigned, including battery delivery and service to non-National account customers.

Qualifications

High school graduate (or equivalent).

Able to read, write, and compute basic math.

Excellent communication skills required.

Minimum of one year of customer service experience required.

Previous delivery driving experience preferred.

Working knowledge of electronic inventory management tools is required (tablets, scanners).

Demonstrates good organizational skills and can prioritize tasks.

Works with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Approaches tasks with a sense of urgency.

Able to work overtime if requested.

Depending on location, the ability to work one or more overnight routes per week may be required.

Must have a clean drivers record AND meet driver qualifications requirements.

Must have and maintain a valid DOT medical card.

Work Environment

Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Repetitive lifting

Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required

Exposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle

Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs
