Job summary

EssilorLuxottica, a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of ophthalmic lenses, frames, and sunglasses, is seeking a Material Handler to support continuous flow of materials and maintain inventory accuracy at our Georgia facilities.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ year experience, be able to lift up to 40 pounds, operate material handling equipment, and work with SAP to track materials and replenishments.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds and stand/walk up to 10 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure materials are always available at stations (continuous replenishment).
  • Conduct routine warehouse walks to identify low stock levels and replenish materials as needed.
  • Maintain accurate material inventory levels at all workstations.
  • Use SAP to look up materials, substitutes, missing items, or chains.
  • Research materials, frames, and substitutes.
  • Record and track out-of-stock materials in designated spreadsheets.
  • Add required materials to ordering spreadsheets to support timely replenishment and inventory needs.
  • Transfer materials to the Lens Repair area to ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Replenish workstation materials throughout the shift to maintain continuous workflow and productivity.
  • Move materials from backstock locations to front-line production and storage locations as needed.
  • Provide runner support and assist with material movement across departments as needed.
  • Maintain breaker racks and missing component racks to ensure organization and material availability.
  • Fill buff stations and packaging stations with sleeves, cloths, frames, and materials.

The Material Handler is focused on continuous flow of materials, stock accuracy, and replenishment.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure materials are always available at stations (continuous replenishment).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year(s) of experience
  • Excellent mathematical aptitude/numerical recognition
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as requested by Supervisors/Manager
  • Ability to communicate/cooperate with DC associates
  • Ability to interact professionally with both corporate and non-corporate personnel
  • Ability to use material handling equipment (pallet jacks, carts, etc.)
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work in a stand/walk position for up to 10 hours
