Job summary

AXIS Capital seeks a Lead Manager for North America Premium Accounting to guide cash allocations and premium receivables across US and Canada. You will partner with internal teams and brokers to ensure timely payments and accurate reporting.

The role demands at least 5 years in P&C insurance finance, strong Excel/Access/Outlook skills, and leadership to drive month-end close and reconciliation processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years P&C insurance industry experience.
  • Demonstration of strong software skills including Excel, Access, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the North America Insurance Premium Accounting team—guide on cash allocations and premium receivables; assist in escalation when needed.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on premium receivables and cash variances; monitor for timely resolution.
  • Escalate items when internal/external contacts are not responding timely; liaise with brokers and internal teams.
  • Research and resolve outstanding issues with internal departments and external brokers; communicate past due receivables.
  • Review BPO vendor's overdue receivables report; coordinate with AXIS departments/brokers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Track daily cash receipts entry into the premium accounting system by the BPO vendor; enforce processing controls.

Job Description

North America Programs/MGA Cash and Receivable Lead Manager How does this role contribute to our collective success? This role will be part of the North America Insurance Premium Accounting team. The team is responsible for collection of all premium receivables and cash allocations for the Insurance premium written on US writing companies - including Canada. This team is instrumental in making sure premiums are paid timely and are key to the cash flow of the company overall.

What will you do in this role?
  • Lead the North America Insurance Premium Accounting team - providing guidance on how to resolve differences/issues on cash allocations and premium receivables and assist in escalation process if required.
  • Ensure the team is following up on premium receivables and cash variances as expected.
  • Escalate items where internal/external contacts are not responding timely
  • Work in conjunction with the internal departments and external brokers to research and resolve any outstanding issues and/or inquiries.
  • Communicate with brokers and Axis internal customers on past due premium receivables.
  • Review the overdue receivables report produced by the BPO vendor and work with Axis internal departments and/or brokers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Track the entry of the cash receipts into the premium accounting system by the BPO vendor daily while ensuring adherence to established process and delivery standards.
  • Ensuring controls are being followed by the BPO vendor for cash processing.
  • Month-end close processing for the legacy system
  • Review and approve bank reconciliations produced by the BPO vendor
  • Review and authorize disbursement requests.
  • Assist the BPO team in researching issues.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned.
  • You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

What you need to have
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years P&C insurance industry experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of related automated financial systems.
  • Demonstration of strong software skills including Excel, Access, and Outlook.

Role Factors
  • Be in the office 3 days per week - with the exception of the last week of the month for month-end
  • Be flexible during month-end with higher work demands
What we offer

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $95,000 to $115,000. Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location.

In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance.

On top of this, you will be eligible for a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which includes medical plans for you and your family, health and wellness programs, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, and much more.

Where this role is based in the United States of America, this role is Exempt for FLSA purposes.
