Job Description

Janus Soft is seeking an elite Senior Big Data Java Engineer to design, scale, and optimize high-performance search and big data solutions for mission‑critical Intelligence Community systems. In this high-impact role, you will leverage deep core Java back‑end engineering skills to build resilient production code, architect enterprise search pipelines using Solr or Elasticsearch, and process massive datasets across distributed big data frameworks. Working alongside a team of top‑tier engineers, you will directly influence query optimization, data indexing, and backend data processing to solve complex data challenges supporting national security objectives.

Mandatory Skills

• Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP).
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field.
• Search Engine Architecture (3+ Years): Intermediate to Expert experience with Solr or Elasticsearch, including:
• Performing schema updates and management.
• Constructing and optimizing complex Lucene queries.
• In‑depth understanding of Solr/Elastic shard mechanisms and operational behavior.
• Tuning search engine clusters for performance, throughput, and query optimization.
• Big Data Ecosystem (3+ Years): Hands‑on experience operating within big data environments utilizing frameworks such as Hadoop, PySpark, Spark, and HBase (experience with at least two is preferred).
