Job summary

Glanbia invites talented undergraduates to join a 12-week Manufacturing Operations Internship. You will work on meaningful projects at our on-site facility in St Johns, MI, gain hands-on experience, and engage with leadership and cross-functional teams.

You will receive mentorship, participate in development workshops, and have the potential for a full-time role based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate pursuing bachelor's in engineering, manufacturing ops, or related field with graduation in 2027/2028.
• Strong written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to perform basic math, data interpretation, and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own a manufacturing operations project and present findings to leadership.
• Support projects through lifecycle from concept development to completion.
• Collect and analyze data; recommend solutions to improve safety, quality, cost, reliability or efficiency.
• Assist with project scope, schedules, budgets, documentation and equipment specs.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, safety.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors as needed for execution.
• Apply engineering principles while learning Glanbia processes and standards.
• Participate in Pure Ambition program activities, workshops, and networking events.

Glanbia is seeking Manufacturing Operations Interns to join our 12-week summer internship program. As a key contributor to the Manufacturing Operations Team, you will support manufacturing plants or project teams and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle—from concept and design through implementation and completion. You will work on projects aligned with business needs, customer requirements, safety standards, schedules, and budgets while building practical experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do

• Own a manufacturing operations project that addresses a relevant business challenge and present your findings and recommendations to leadership


• Support projects throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development and planning through implementation and completion


• Collect and analyze data, evaluate processes, and recommend practical solutions that improve safety, quality, cost, reliability, or efficiency


• Assist with project scope, schedules, budgets, documentation, equipment specifications, and implementation activities


• Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, safety, and other cross‑functional partners


• Work with contractors and vendors as needed to support project execution and technical problem‑solving


• Apply engineering principles to real manufacturing challenges while learning Glanbia’s processes, standards, and continuous improvement practices


• Participate fully in Pure Ambition program activities, development workshops, networking events, and intern presentations

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing operations, or related field with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028


• Clear written communication and strong interpersonal skills


• Self-starter and highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently.


• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
