Job summary

A leading electrical equipment manufacturer in Garland, Texas is seeking an Electrical Test Technician to ensure that low- and medium-voltage switchgear meets quality standards before shipment. Responsibilities include performing specialized testing, documenting results meticulously, and adhering strictly to safety protocols. Ideal candidates should have at least 5 years’ experience in relevant testing environments. Familiarity with protective relays and testing instruments is a must. Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience testing low- and medium-voltage switchgear.
• Ability to work independently and maintain production schedules.
• Certifications in NETA, OSHA, or NFPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-shipment testing of MV/LV switchgear and related systems.
• Document all test results and maintain organized documentation.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and standards during testing.

Testing low- and medium-voltage switchgear

Using testing instruments (megger, hipot, multimeter)

Interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams

Strong documentation skills
