Job summary

Bethany Community Church in West Seattle is seeking a part-time Music & Worship Associate to craft thoughtful worship experiences for Sunday services at our West Seattle Campus. You will lead music, coordinate volunteers, and develop the worship team in a collaborative environment.

The role involves Sundays through Thursdays, 10 hours per week, with a compensation of $25/hour and sick leave accrual. This position reports to the Bethany West Seattle Lead Pastor.

Qualifications

• Vocalist and instrumentalist with the ability to lead from the stage solo or with others.
• Strong ownership and organizational skills with experience building systems and processes.
• Commitment to Bethany’s mission, values, and vision; cultural competency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute engaging Sunday worship services in conjunction with the Lead Pastor, staff, and volunteer worship leaders.
• Develop the worship team, including music and A/V.
• Recruit, schedule, and collaborate for other service elements.
• Run weekly rehearsals and maintain touchpoints with the volunteer team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Music & Worship Associate

Summary: Come lead worship with us on Sunday mornings! Our West Seattle Campus is looking for someone to craft thoughtful music and worship experiences for Sunday morning services.

Location: Bethany Community Church, West Seattle

Reports to: Bethany West Seattle Lead Pastor

FLSA Status: Non-exempt, part-time, 10 hours/week

Essential Duties and Responsiblities

• Design and execute high-quality, engaging Sunday worship services in conjunction with the
• Lead Pastor, staff, and volunteer worship leaders.
• Develop the worship team, including music and A/V.
• Recruit, schedule, and collaborate for other service elements.
• Runs weekly rehearsals as needed and regular touchpoints with the volunteer team.
• Performs other duties as the situation requires or as assigned by the manager.

• Skilled vocalist and instrumentalist, with the ability to lead humbly and dynamically from the stage alone and with others.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Other Specifications

Schedule: Typical work schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 10 hours/week.

Physical Demands: Must be able to work in an office environment, often at a computer workstation. Must be able to move between buildings on campus. Must be able to lift small boxes and/or equipment up to 50lbs.

Working Conditions: Due to seasonal activity, job duties may often require additional hours and availability outside normal working hours. This position may require the flexibility to adjust the work schedule from time to time to work earlier or later than the typical schedule. You must be able to adapt your approach and priorities in real time based on shifting demands. We have non-smoking buildings and environments.

Compensation: $25/hour

Benefits: Sick Leave accrued at the rate of one hour per 40 hours worked.
