Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation in Sacramento is seeking a licensed Music Therapist to provide direct music therapy services to neuro patients under a PRN schedule. You will evaluate patient needs, design individualized therapy plans, and work closely with a rehabilitation team to improve physical, cognitive, and emotional outcomes.

Responsibilities include conducting therapy sessions, documenting progress, coordinating with PT/OT/SLP, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy is required.
• MT-BC certification and/or licensure as required by state.
• Knowledge of music therapy activities for neurologic disorders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; reliable transportation and travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations with rehab team and set measurable objectives.
• Administer direct music therapy treatment for habilitative and rehabilitative services.
• Plan and organize music therapy activities tailored to patient needs and interests.
• Observe and adjust treatment to maximize outcomes.
• Communicate patient progress to the treatment team and family as applicable.
• Coordinate with PT/OT/SLP to align music therapy goals with other therapies.
• Document changes in patient condition to clinical coordinator and physicians.
• Provide training to patients and others involved in rehab; document results.
• Maintain and submit evaluation, treatment, and billing records per regulations.
• Adhere to HIPAA, company policies, and applicable laws.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Performs an evaluation, assessing the needs of the person receiving services, and sets measurable objectives that are formulated in conjunction with the rehabilitation team
• Administers direct music therapy treatment to provide habilitative and rehabilitative services
• Plans and organizes music therapeutic activities in accordance with patients' needs, capabilities, and interests
• Observes and evaluates patients' reactions to various experiences, adjusts treatment to achieve maximum results
• Communicates patient's needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, person receiving services, family members, as applicable
• Consults with and works closely with other disciplines in ways music therapy goals can support patient meeting their Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech goals
• Observes, documents, and reports changes in the condition of the person served to the clinical coordinator, PM/DCM, attending physician, and other treatment team members as appropriate
• Provides training to the person receiving services, and as appropriate, all others involved in that person's rehabilitation. Analyzes and documents the result of any training
• Maintains and submits evaluation, treatment and billing documentation in the format and timelines required by the Company, facility, funding source, local, state, and federal regulations
• Adheres to standards of the Company's Code of Business Conduct, policies, HIPAA and Corporate Compliance programs and appropriate professional practice standards and applicable state/federal laws
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy
• Maintains current license as Music Therapist, if required by state of practice
• Maintains state license as Music or Music Therapist - Board Certified (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT), depending on state requirements
• Knowledge of the various appropriate music therapy activities used for the therapeutic treatment of individuals with neurologic disorders
• Previous post graduate work experience as music therapist is preferred
• Demonstrates effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification in accordance state regulations
• Has reliable transportation and is able to travel to/from multiple assignments/locations daily
