Job summary

Qualifications

• Masters degree in music theory or allied disciplines, plus one year of teaching experience at the collegiate level (may be as a graduate assistant).
• Completed doctorate in music theory or ABD in music theory.
• Teaching experience at the collegiate level.

Responsibilities

• Teach four courses per semester.
• Teach primarily in the undergraduate music theory sequence, fundamentals, and aural skills.
• Additional ability to teach counterpoint, advanced undergraduate theory courses, potentially arranging courses, as well as graduate theory review.
• Participate in recruitment, program development, and service to the School of Music, College of Fine Arts, University, and profession.
