Job summary

Guitar Center Stores, Inc. in New York is seeking a Music Teacher to deliver lessons using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will work to increase student headcount while nurturing our culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect.

You will collaborate with the Store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students, teach proficiently on drums, guitar, keyboard, or other instruments, and provide an excellent customer experience. Join us to inspire lifelong musicians.

Qualifications

• Experience in music, education, or related field.
• Ability to teach the instrument they are proficient in (drums, guitar, keyboard, etc).
• Demonstrated competency in the area they will be teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach music lessons following the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
• Increase student headcount and ensure growth while upholding culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect.
• Assist with Customer service as needed, helping to build and maintain long term students by creating a great experience.
• Partner with store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
• Communicate with students and/or parents on progress and share goals regularly.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Pay Rate: $16.00/hr - $17.00/hr Non-Teaching Rate and up to $26.80/hr Total Teaching Rate depending on background and experience.

As a Music Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will work to increase student count ensuring each student continues to grow, develop, and enjoys playing music all while nurturing our culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect.

As a Music Teacher, you will impact:

Store Culture & Excellence:

• Partner with store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based off the needs of the community
• Teach students utilizing the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum
• Assist with Customer service as needed, helping to build and maintain long term students by creating a great experience
• Additional duties as assigned

Student & Parent Partnership:

• Partner with all students and families through frequent communication, building trusting relationships, and embracing the knowledge parents have as their child's Music Teacher
• Communicate with students and/or parents of students on progress of each student
• Share students and/or parents' goals and progress frequently

Requirements:

• Previous experience in Music, Education, or related field
• Ability to teach the instrument that they are proficient in such as Drums, Guitar, Keyboard, etc.
• Skilled ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area they will be teaching
