Job summary

Goodwill South Florida is seeking a Music Program Assistant to support the Music Program Director in developing musical abilities and social skills for participants with disabilities. You will assist during rehearsals, performances, and training sessions, helping with auditions, warm-ups, and instrument setup.

You’ll work closely with choir and band members, reinforce music techniques, and help with progress documentation, while fostering confidence and teamwork among participants.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in music, music education, or related field preferred.
• Hands-on experience with choirs, bands, or music ensembles.
• Experience working with people with disabilities strongly preferred.
• Ability to read music sheets and explain basic music theory.
• Ability to play at least one musical instrument.

Responsibilities

• Assist with auditions by preparing participants and supporting vocal warm-ups.
• Provide direct support to choir and band during rehearsals and performances.
• Lead warm-up exercises, sectionals, or practice drills under supervision.
• Support teaching of new songs and review of music.
• Set up and break down rehearsal spaces and equipment.
• Document participant progress and provide input on improvements.
