Job summary

Freeman Heights Baptist Church is seeking a Music Minister to lead the church’s music ministry and support worship services. The role requires engagement with church committees, families, and musicians, and a background in vocal or musical performance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare media for worship and manage the music ministry budget.

Freeman Heights Baptist Church is looking to fill a position for Music Minister. This personmust be a Christian who adheres to and affirms the Baptist Faith and Message. They mustbe self-motivated and eager to engage with church committees, members, families, andmusicians.A background of vocal/musical experience is preferred. Formal music training or educationis preferred but not required.The salary will be based on experience, responsibilities, and education. This position couldbe a full- or part-time position based on the vocational needs and interest of a candidate.Principal Function:The Music Minister will be responsible to the church and the Pastor for the developmentand promotion of the music ministry and programs of the church.Supervised by:The Music Minister will be under the leadership and direct supervision of the Senior Pastorand the church for the development and promotion of music ministry.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities of the Music Minister:
• Direct the planning, organizing, conduction, and evaluation of a comprehensive
• music program including but not limited to choir, vocal groups, solos, and/or
• instrumental music and to enlist and train leaders for church music ministry.
• Select and purchase music, which is in keeping with the talents and needs of
• the congregation and offer variety in worship.
• Enlist soloists, quartets, praise teams, and instrumentalist or choir members
• as needed for worship services. Conduct rehearsals and encourage people
• to be involved.
• Assist the Senior Pastor in planning and leading the church worship services, weekly
• meeting with the pastor to finalize all music before presenting to musicians.
• Lead in congregational singing and participation
• Prepare all media that pertains to worship/congregational use.
• Prepare a budget to present to the Finance Committee for consideration in the
• annual needs of the music ministries of the church.
• The Minister and his family will be active church members, team members, and
• supportive in the church’s programs.
• Maintain office hours and attend staff meetings as determined by Pastor and/or
• All other duties as assigned by the Pastor to facilitate the ministry of this church.
