Job summary

School of Rock in Rockwall, Texas is seeking a Music Instructor to join our community and help students grow through performance-based lessons. You will lead private lessons, coordinate with parents, and participate in shows and rehearsals to reinforce fundamentals of music.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years teaching or performing music, strong knowledge of music theory, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience teaching and/or performing music.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Excellent ability to deal with a wide range of customers and people.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Very strong customer relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction, including private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn the fundamentals of music, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate regularly with parents about students’ progress after lessons.
• Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school.
• Assume responsibility for canceled lessons and support overall program execution.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance at the school.
• Adhere to the School of Rock Code of Conduct, safety policies, and monitoring and supervision policy.

Responsibilities

Music Instruction
