Job summary

School of Rock in North Haven, CT is seeking a Music Instructor to lead lessons and rehearsals, delivering engaging, curriculum-based instruction across key instruments.

You will design thoughtful lesson plans, communicate with parents, and help students build music and life skills in a dynamic, performance-focused program.

Ideal candidates are working musicians with formal training, 3+ years experience, strong organizational and customer-relations skills, and a passion for teaching.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows.
• Be sure the students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons.
• Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school.
• Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the program.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in school.
• Adheres to the School of Rock Code of Conduct, safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy.

With over 425 schools, and a strong internationally recognized brand, School of Rock is the largest after-school music education provider in the world. We put on shows to teach music! We are looking for a Music Instructor to join us at our North Haven location.

As a Music Instructor you will be responsible for all music education-related elements within the lessons and rehearsals, creating a dynamic experience to ensure students are challenged and inspired. The Music Instructor positively embodies rock and roll and is responsible for creating a valuable student experience that helps our students learn music and life skills.

We teach five core areas at School of Rock - keys, vocals, guitar, bass and drums. Many of our teachers have broader musical talent as well which we do our best to engage.

Music Instruction:
