Job summary

Amazon Music is seeking a Data Scientist to join the DISCO MPT team to lead models powering personalized recommendations and analytics at scale.

You will partner with product, science, and finance stakeholders to scale science offerings, build data pipelines, and drive analytics initiatives across music products.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of data science experience, strong SQL/Python skills, and a track record of applying ML in large tech environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of data scientist experience.
• 3+ years of data querying languages (SQL) or scripting languages (Python) or statistical software.
• 3+ years of ML/statistical modeling tools and techniques.
• 1+ years of guiding and coaching a group of researchers.
• 1+ years of working with or evaluating AI systems.
• 1+ years of creating or contributing to mathematical textbooks, research papers, or educational content.
• Master's degree in STEM or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the research and development of models powering personalized recommendations.
• Partner with product leaders to develop science-driven business strategies.
• Collaborate with science, marketing and product teams across Amazon Entertainment and subscription businesses.
• Educate internal teams on analytics, insights and measurement.
• Develop models to determine drivers of key performance metrics and automate variance analysis.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to evaluate the impact of new features or algorithms.
• Analyze experimental results and provide optimization recommendations.
• Work with Senior Data Scientists and Product Managers on success and guardrail metrics.
• Encourage experimentation and advanced analytics across the organization.
