Job summary

Bullock Texas State History Museum, a division of the State Preservation Board, seeks an Exhibit Technician to maintain and fabricate exhibits, install and de-install components, and ensure artifact security. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and accuracy in handling museum objects, with a need for weekend/evening hours and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Two years of hands-on museum exhibit/display experience preferred.
• Valid Driver License required.
• Willing to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair exhibit components, cases, and fixtures across 44,000 sq ft.
• Fabricate exhibit structures using basic cabinetmaking and carpentry skills.
• Install, de-install, and service exhibits and AV components per schedule.
• Ensure safe handling and storage of artifacts following museum standards.
• Keep workspaces organized and use Windows-based systems for admin tasks.
