Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Health Heart & Vascular in Columbia seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join a nationally recognized cardiovascular team providing inpatient and outpatient care. You will work alongside leading cardiologists and surgeons in a diverse Midlands patient population.

As part of a premier heart and vascular program, you will deliver advanced cardiac care in a collaborative, evidence-based environment, with strong support for professional growth,

Qualifications

• APN/PA with cardiology experience is required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS for adult inpatient positions.
• DHEC and DEA license applications must be started before first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Take comprehensive histories and perform physical exams.
• Evaluate and treat based on clinical findings and tests.
• Initiate referrals and consult with supervising physicians.
• Document and bill for direct care provided.
• Engage in quality/performance improvement activities and research.
• Support accreditation, compliance, and regulatory tasks.

MUSC Health – Columbia Medical Center Downtownis a 273-bed hospital located in the heart of downtown Columbia, South Carolina. Required Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Provider: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in cardiology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required for adult inpatient positions
• DHEC and DEA license applications must be started prior to first day

Position Highlights / Direct patient care activities

• Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations
• Evaluates and treats on the basis of history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline
• Initiates referrals to other health care provides, and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician
• Documents and bills for direct care provided
• Utilizes current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice
• Performs and participates in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research
• Participates in and supports accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization
• Demonstrates responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education
• Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates the learning of other new team members
