Job summary

Novant Health Urgent Care in Murrells Inlet, SC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support physicians, take vitals, prepare patients for visits, and accurately document information into the EMR.

This full-time role offers a $500 sign-on bonus for new CMAs in the Beach Region, opportunities to cover multiple clinic locations, and generous benefits including PTO, CME reimbursement, and a 403(b) plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program.
• Current CMA or RMA certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and OSHA/HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient demographics, medical history, prescription and pharmacy information and records it for the provider.
• Take vitals and prepare patients for physician visits.
• Record information into the EMR system and assist with front desk duties.
• Collect laboratory specimens and perform basic lab tests as delegated.
• Provide excellent patient care and customer service to patients and staff.
• Ensure rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and functioning.

What Are We Looking For?

NHUC is currently looking for a is currently looking for a medical assistant to join our team who will prepare patients for their physician visit. MA’s prepare patients by taking vitals, documents vital information from patient into EMR system. They also assist with patient services duties at the front desk taking phone calls, updating patient demographics and offering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Collects patient demographics, medical history, prescription and pharmacy information and records it for the provider.
• Recognizes patient distress and notifies the provider accordingly.
• Collect laboratory specimens including phlebotomy
• Performs laboratory tests
• Performs data collection and testing for occupational health clients
• Prepares and administer medications as delegated by a physician, physician assistant and nurse practitioner.
• Exhibits professional behavior and provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers at all times.
• Operates general office equipment such as personal computer, copier, fax machine, etc.
• Ability to effectively utilize EMR software.
• Supports provider by performing excellent patient care through effective communication.
• Ensure all patient rooms and equipment are in working condition.
• Provides coverage at other clinic locations within the region as requested and/or needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
