Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a Husbandry Technician I to provide daily care for murine models in standard and specialized housing. You will maintain cages, monitor health, and ensure consistent food and water supplies while communicating with research staff.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience in murine husbandry care or veterinary facility preferred.
Some experience with disinfection, sterilization, sanitation, and environmental microbiological analysis preferred.
Some experience operating model species caging and sanitation equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Execute assigned murine husbandry tasks with guidance (e.g., maintenance of model species holding & procedure rooms; routine sanitation; food and water supply & drug dosing management; scheduled cage changing).
Perform routine techniques on murine model (e.g., treatments, formalin fixation) as per defined guidelines.
Assist in veterinary treatments on research models, special observations, and other study-directed requests.
Maintain accurate documentation and records as required.
Escalate issues and problems according to set standards and SOPs.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
