D&G Solutions is seeking a Munitions Loader Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide operational, technical, and functional expertise in planning, handling, loading, securing, and movement of military munitions and hazardous cargo.

On-site at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, with Secret clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI, the role bridges operations and information systems to improve movement processes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide SME on loading, handling, packaging, preparation, staging, and transportation of munitions.
  • Advise program teams on munitions movement requirements across air, surface, and maritime modes.
  • Evaluate loading plans for feasibility, safety, regulatory compliance, and mission needs.
  • Support development and validation of movement procedures and operational workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve speed, safety, and visibility of movements.
  • Provide expertise on weight, balance, hazardous material requirements, and load configuration.
  • Translate operational requirements into functional/technical requirements for software teams.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, system demos, UAT, and validation events.
  • Review system outputs to ensure accurate representation of real-world operations.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and metrics for munitions visibility and decision making.
  • Coordinate with defense, transportation, logistics, and installation stakeholders.
  • Maintain awareness of federal and safety policies and procedures.
  • Document findings, recommendations, and lessons learned.
  • Provide SME support during exercises, assessments, and mission events.

D&G Solutions is seeking a Munitions Loader Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide operational, technical, and functional expertise in the planning, preparation, handling, loading, securing, movement, and accountability of military munitions and hazardous cargo. This role supports defense transportation and logistics missions by applying extensive field experience to improve munitions movement processes, operational procedures, training, system requirements, and logistics data.

This position serves as a bridge between munitions operations, transportation organizations, logistics planners, and information systems, ensuring operational requirements are accurately translated into executable processes and system capabilities.

What You Will Do
  • Provide subject matter expertise on military munitions loading, handling, packaging, preparation, staging, and transportation operations.
  • Advise program teams and mission stakeholders on munitions movement requirements across air, surface, and maritime transportation modes.
  • Evaluate munitions loading plans for operational feasibility, safety, regulatory compliance, aircraft, vehicle, and vessel limitations, and mission requirements.
  • Support development and validation of munitions movement procedures, standard operating procedures, business rules, and operational workflows.
  • Analyze operational processes and identify opportunities to improve the speed, accuracy, safety, and visibility of munitions movements.
  • Provide expertise on compatibility, segregation, weight and balance, hazardous material requirements, load configuration, and transportation restrictions.
  • Support the development and validation of requirements for logistics information systems supporting munitions movement.
  • Translate operational munitions requirements into functional and technical requirements for software developers, data engineers, testers, and analysts.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, system demonstrations, user acceptance testing, test events, and operational validation.
  • Review system outputs and data to ensure they accurately represent real-world munitions movement operations.
  • Identify data quality issues, process gaps, and discrepancies affecting munitions visibility and decision making.
  • Assist in developing dashboards, reports, and operational metrics supporting munitions movement visibility and decision making.
  • Coordinate with defense, transportation, logistics, installation, and other mission stakeholders as required.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable federal, agency, transportation, hazardous material, and explosive safety policies and procedures.
  • Document operational findings, recommendations, lessons learned, and process improvements.
  • Provide SME support during exercises, operational assessments, demonstrations, and other mission events.
What We Are Looking For

Required

  • 8+ years of military munitions, ammunition, explosive ordnance, or hazardous cargo logistics experience, preferably with direct munitions loading experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with military munitions handling, loading, transportation, staging, and movement operations.
  • Knowledge of military transportation processes and the organizations involved in munitions distribution.
  • Experience interpreting and applying applicable munitions, hazardous material, transportation, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to analyze complex operational processes and communicate recommendations to both operational and technical audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with government, industry, and mission partner personnel.

Preferred

  • Prior experience supporting defense transportation, joint logistics, service component, or related mission organizations.
  • Experience supporting munitions transportation planning at the installation, theater, or strategic level.
  • Experience with military logistics information systems and transportation management systems.
  • Experience supporting contested logistics, distributed operations, or operational planning.
  • Prior experience serving as a trainer, evaluator, load planner, or senior munitions specialist.
  • Graduate of the USAF Advanced Maintenance and Munitions Operations School (AMMOS), Combat Ammunition Planning and Production (CAPP) course, Senior Leader Aerial Munitions Course (SLAM-C), Ammunition Management Officer Course (AMOC), Associate Logistics Executive Development Course (ALEDC), or Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS).
  • Military backgrounds including MOS 89A, MOS 89B, AFSC 2WX01, AFSC 2W1X1, AFSC 21M, AFSC 21R, Core Rating AO, or Core Rating GM.
Clearance and Eligibility
  • Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
Location
  • On site at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.
  • Travel up to 10%.
