Job summary

HNTB is seeking a technician to join our Municipal Transportation Section in the Kansas City/Overland Park area to assist and lead the design production of municipal roadway projects for local clients.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field with 3 years of relevant experience, or an Associate of Science in Drafting or Technical School with 5 years, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field and 3 years of relevant experience.
Associate of Science in Drafting or Technical School or related and 5 years of relevant experience.
In lieu education, 7 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Organizes design/production related files.
Verifies the accuracy of drawings and compatibility of work across disciplines.
Assists the engineer in outlining objectives, requirements and design approaches.
Attends project and pre-construction meetings and provides input to ensure proper policies, procedures, and specifications are followed. Prepares electronic files for use in meetings and facilitates their display.
Calculates quantities and performs engineering related computations.
Provides training and mentoring to earlier career technicians.
Performs other duties as assigned.
