Job summary

MSA Professional Services invites applicants for a Public Works Engineering Intern position in our Rice Lake, WI office. The role offers a broad exposure to municipal projects including utilities, water/wastewater, streets, and stormwater design and inspection, typically lasting 12 weeks from mid-May to mid-August 2027.

Interns gain hands-on experience across project types, with CAD support, permit work, and collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree (or related) in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• A valid driver's license is required
• Previous related engineering intern or co-op experience preferred
• Civil 3D or AutoCAD coursework and/or experience preferred
• U.S. work authorization; no sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Inspect active construction work on municipal water, road/utilities, or wastewater projects
• Perform construction administration duties: document activities, report to project managers, measure and test, oversee, interact with contractors and residents
• Help prepare permits and technical reports for municipal projects
• Assist with CAD work and project estimations
• Provide assistance with company initiatives across service lines
• Other duties as assigned
