The ideal candidate has 7+ years in municipal infrastructure, with underground piping and utilities expertise, and holds an EIT.

Responsibilities

• Lead municipal infrastructure projects from planning through construction administration.

We’re looking for an experienced Municipal Project Manager to join our team in Missoula and play a key role in growing our municipal infrastructure practice. This position is ideal for a Project Engineer ready to step into project management or an experienced PM who wants to continue leading projects while taking on greater responsibility for team and client development.The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure, with a strong focus on underground piping and utility systems. Experience with roadways, site development, and other municipal projects is also valuable.

You’ll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction administration, while working directly with clients, contractors, municipalities, and multidisciplinary teams. A major opportunity with this position is the ability to lead and grow the Missoula municipal team and help expand the firm’s presence in the market.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead municipal infrastructure projects from planning through construction administration
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and client expectations
• Provide technical oversight for underground water, wastewater, stormwater, and utility projects
• Develop and review plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and other project documents
• Support roadway, site development, and other municipal infrastructure projects
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
• Provide construction administration and field support throughout project delivery
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other construction documentation
• Mentor and support junior engineers and project staff
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with municipal clients
• Assist with proposals, business development, and identifying new project opportunities
• Help lead, develop, and grow the Missoula municipal team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field
• 7+ years of municipal infrastructure experience
• Strong experience with underground piping and municipal utilities
• Experience with roadways, site development, or other municipal infrastructure preferred
• EIT certification required
• PE preferred, or the ability to obtain a PE shortly after hire
• Previous project management or project leadership experience
• Strong understanding of municipal design and construction practices
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
