Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of transactional municipal experience.

• Admission to the State Bar of California.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate public works contracts, professional services agreements, development agreements, joint powers agreements, and other municipal transactional documents
• Advise public agency clients regarding compliance with public contracting requirements, open meeting laws, conflict of interest regulations, and related statutory frameworks
• Prepare staff reports, resolutions, ordinances, and related agenda materials
• Attend and present at city council, board, and commission meetings as needed
• Assist with procurement processes, including drafting and reviewing RFPs and bid documents
• Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas on matters involving land use, real estate, infrastructure, and regulatory compliance

We are seeking an associate with a minimum of 5–7 years of transactional municipal experience to join our expanding Public Law team. The ideal candidate will have:

• Significant experience advising public agency clients on transactional matters
• Excellent writing, research, drafting, and analytical skills

• Ability to manage matters independently and interface directly with public officials and staff
• Admission to the State Bar of California

The associate will be expected to:

The anticipated base salary range for this full-time role is $170,000 – $206,000 plus annual performance-based bonuses. The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s years of practice and experience.
