Job summary

Autocar in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Production Operator to join self-directed teams on the assembly line. You will support efficient production, perform backflushes, and ensure 5S and quality standards are met.

Qualifications include a HS diploma, 1+ year in vehicle manufacturing, BOM literacy, ability to read drawings, and strong mechanical aptitude. Training and multi-station work are part of the role in a friendly team environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
  • Over one year of experience in a vehicle manufacturing/industrial environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret a Bill of Materials (BOM) and read technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain 5S and perform backflushes correctly to support quality.
  • Contribute to root cause problem solving and data gathering for shortages.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the assembly line within self-directed work groups/teams.
  • Support productive operation of the assembly line and ensure quality control.
  • Train new employees and provide feedback to supervisors and QC.
