Job summary

Red Lobster is seeking a Sales Tax Analyst to support multi-state tax compliance, system maintenance, and cross-functional initiatives from our Orlando corporate office. The role blends transactional tax work with data analysis and internal controls in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and at least three years’ related experience, with advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/tax software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum three years of accounting experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel with advanced functions (XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables).
• Understanding of multi-state sales and use tax concepts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare documentation, work papers, and data files for multi-state sales, use, and local tax returns.
• Review draft returns prepared by third party and resolve data variances before submission.
• Serve as primary contact for taxability questions and support complex transactions.
• Ensure accurate accounting for tax accruals, payments, and related expenses; prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain and update internal master sales tax rate listings and ensure POS tax rates reflect changes.
• Support responses to inquiries, notices, and assessments from tax authorities; document findings.
• Research and process payments for short-paid tax invoices and resolve vendor discrepancies.
• Reconcile sales tax collected by third-party delivery partners and ensure compliance with marketplace facilitator laws.
• Coordinate with licensing to verify corporate registrations and tax licenses.
