Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to assist in providing clinical care under supervision. The role may involve floating to various specialties within the Health and Wellness Center as needed.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, with certification(s) encouraged. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Excellent communication skills.

• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam room, treatment room, supplies and instruments.
• Prepares patients for physician visit and examination assisting as directed.
• Takes patient vital signs and records in medical chart.
• Understands proper function and care of special equipment.
• Performs EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test as indicated; may perform UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy and other lab testing as allowed.
• Maintains records by completing patient records and reports.
• Assists with collections/billing procedures as needed.
• Uses computer software to maintain office systems.
• Identifies and responds to confidentiality issues.
• Delivers care tailored to patient age, culture, language, and needs.
