Qualifications

• State approved EMT course.
• One year of Medical Assistant experience in an ambulatory care clinic or healthcare setting.
• Medical Assisting education program.
• University Hospital Medical Assistant certification program.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures per clinic procedures.
• Reports patient concerns and changes in condition to licensed staff.
• Performs CLIA waved lab tests and reports results.
• May assist with injections, catheterization, and phlebotomy after training.
• Assists in scheduling appointments and diagnostic tests.
• Maintains exam rooms and supplies; notifies staff of restocks and repairs.
• Attends mandatory education including infection prevention, CPR, safety.
• May apply EKG/ultrasound leads under supervision.
