Job summary

Summit Orthopedics is seeking an Orthopedic Clinical Assistant for a full-time float role across multiple Summit locations in the Twin Cities area. Responsibilities include clinical support, rooming patients, casting, DME, and patient education, with a Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM schedule.

Must be flexible to float to several clinics as needed. Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma and clinical experience in orthopedics; casting/splinting certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Casting/splinting certification highly desired or willingness to obtain necessary certification.
• 1 year: Must have at least six months of relevant clinical experience, preferably in an Orthopedic environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient flow, room patients and obtain and record medical histories.
• Prepare instruments and equipment for examinations; stock rooms between appointments.
• Assist with casting, splinting, DME fitting; removal of sutures and staples as directed by provider.
• Provide patient education instructions verbally or in writing.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and verify insurance and demographics.
• Refill prescriptions on behalf of ordering physician.
• Manage patient charts and send/receive medical records; process paperwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
